Sculpture in progress

The current sculpture I'm working on:

He's made of wire, plaster, and clay. I had to stuff the skull with plastic bags so it would hold its shape. The horns are about two feet high. I need to start building the body next - he's going to be crouching, and around four feet tall. I decided to paint him a mottled brown and gray, with feathers around the horns and yellow glass eyes. He doesn't have a name yet, though!

It's going to take a while to finish this one. I'll update soon with more photos as I go along.

Do you know what kind of feathers you'll be using? It looks great so far.
Love the webpage design, colors and especially the Jay!
Checked out Miranda's Mythology; I'm blown away.

I'm glad you like it!
I haven't decided yet about the feathers. I'm thinking probably some softer marabou feathers at the bottom of the horns, I found some that are gray and brown. I may put some longer pheasant feathers behind the horns as well.

-love your username, by the way! ;)
